SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa (FSM) Centre of Excellence (CoE) was launched on the 28th of June 2016 by the Premier of Gauteng: Hon. David Makhura. The Centre's main objective is to help alleviate poverty and deal with unemployment by supporting vocational training and implementing job creation projects for unemployed.

Originally launched in 2012, we understood that young people navigate so many broken systems in their transition from a poorly performing education system and then they are faced with a labour market characterized by massive disruptions. The situation is so dire especially for young women whose barriers to education, work seeking, and growth are higher and more difficult than they are for young men.
