The Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa (FSM) Centre of Excellence (CoE) was launched on the 28th of June 2016 by the Premier of Gauteng: Hon. David Makhura. The Centre's main objective is to help alleviate poverty and deal with unemployment by supporting vocational training and implementing job creation projects for unemployed.
Our focus is especially on historically disadvantaged communities by providing training relevant to the demand on the economic sector so that individuals can be able to secure job opportunities or start a business/enterprise.
The FSM CoE is a multi-Purpose centre that delivers services in a multi-faced approach, taking into cognizance the multi-dimensional nature of poverty. The services of the centre are premised from four (4) pillars of services namely:
Information, Advice and Referrals
Social Programmes
Skills Development
Entrepreneurial Development
At the core of the Centre is the need to develop the knowledge and to empower all who are trained at the Centre to succeed in workplace roles for both entry level and development.
The centre caters for both FUNDED PROGRAMMES AND NON-FUNDED PROGRAMMES
The FSM CoE has the resources to train a wide range of disciplines as well as aspects for Management and Staff required technical knowledge i.e.
All trainings are competency focused: any student attending a course is given in-depth theoretical knowledge and the relevant practical skills in our fully equipped classrooms and workshops to achieve competency in the workforce.
